ABC's LAST RESORT

By Sean Smyth

ABC Brings Us Back To Yet Another Island.

ABC's LOST ended a little while back, as most people know, and since then ABC has struggled with trying to find a successful drama to fill that gap. Many of their dramas have attempted to replicate the intricate plot and mystery and mythos that LOST is/was known for. However many of them have ended up falling by the wayside.

That is until now as they roll out a, ABC original that is unlike anything I've seen on network television, Last Resort. A military, character driven, conspiracy drama created by Shawn Ryan, the creator of The Shield.

Last Resort is a drama that follows the crew members of the U.S.S Colorado, the most powerful nuclear sub, as they receive orders to fire upon Pakistan. Unable to fulfill those orders the Captain (Andre Bauer) is relieved of command and soon after they are fired upon by the U.S.S Illinois which ends up killing several members of the crew. After escaping near death they find refuge on a nearby island declaring it theirs and attempt to survive the island as well as unravel the conspiracy to who and why they were fired upon. They even go as far as threaten the countries of the world with the Nukes if they attempt to interfere with their investigation.
Overall the show looks to be something new, something different. It is a character driven story fueled by corruption and terrorism that will bring a higher caliber of television to the Networks that we haven't seen in a few years. Shawn Ryan seems to have brought his A game, immersing us into the people stuck in this situation and bringing along Andre Bauer and Scott Speedman for the ride doesn't hurt any either. I personally am looking forward to seeing the pilot and just how far they are willing to go.

What do you think? Is this something you want to check out? Or is it going to be another ABC flop? Comment below and as always, thanks for reading.

WALKING DEAD SEASON 3 TRAILER DEBUT

By Sean Smyth

The Prison, The Governor, Michonne, Oh My!

The Walking Dead is going to be slinking back on to TV in a few short months. To help wet our lips with the upcoming season, AMC has unleashed it's first trailer for the series that shows our fateful group of survivors coming head to head with a prison full of Walkers.  Also in play is our mysterious woman in the hood from last season, who any comic book fan knows is Michonne, hanging around Andrea and stumbling onto the Governor who has built a quaint little town in the middle of the end of the world. So Cheers to him.

The footage looks more or less to be stealing heavily from the third and fourth volumes of the Walking Dead Comics that involve the plot changing prison story arch and the Governor who is known as being the series best villain for who he is and what he does. I can only hope that he is the same guy from the comics as he is in the show because that will truly make for some interesting TV, and continue our new show runner's (Glenn Mazzara) winning streak after taking over for Frank Darabont half way through the second season.

Since Mazzara has taken over the story has shifted dramatically from being the slow burn story telling that really didn't go anywhere (aka Sophia story line) to much faster more tense action horror story we all wanted. At least in my opinion. I only hope the best for the show and that they don't fall back into the same rut they did in Season 2.

The Walking Dead's third Season premiers October 14th at 9/8C on AMC.
Check out the Four Minuet Trailer Below:
Lets hear what you think. Is the show going in the right direction or has it wandered to far for you to care. Comment below in that place where you write stuff and as always, thanks for reading.

THE FIRST TWO MINUETS OF DEXTER SEASON SEVEN

By Sean Smyth

Things pick up right where they left off as Dexter tries to talk himself out of being caught red handed.

Looks like things are starting to come together for Dexter as seasons are finally starting to overlap and stories are coming together.

It is said that this season will be unlike any other season they've had thus far and I'm really interested in seeing what they mean by that.

in the mean time we got this sweet two minuet clip out of Comic-Con that will probably get you amped for the upcoming season.
Enjoy:

Lets here what you think. They getting off to the right start or are they going to fumble on the first play?  Comment often and thanks for reading.
